In Search of Actionable Marketing Tutorials
Everyday I’m on a hunt for a great, practical article. I’m the type of person who loves reading, and then turning around and applying what I’ve learned. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m trying to teach myself how to program, and there’s a plethora of resources available. It’s refreshing to have websites like Stack Overflow – all I need to do is search for my problem, and there’s a high probability someone else has encountered the same thing.
My primary passion is centered around marketing – specifically marketing online. It’s extremely important to understand the various tools and methodologies used by “the pros”, yet time and time again I find articles with fluffy “steps to marketing your business online.” Put simply, it’s much easier to speak than do, and I’m getting pretty tired of it.
In the past month, I’ve seen traffic on my website quadruple, and it seems like those years of blogging are starting to pay off. I’m watching industry leaders and other notable figures online building their business with video tutorials, and I’ve decided to jump into the mix. After all, what’s the worst thing that could happen?
Actionable Marketing Metrics Videos
I’ll break down my roadmap. It’s very simple – avoid producing junk, and focus on providing real value. Instead of offering vague information, I’ll use video tutorials to show how I use products like Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, Google Adwords, KissMetrics, and more. I’ll also dive into important marketing metrics, placing a heavy focus on getting real insight -the stuff that matters.
Next, I’ll also add a splash of Customer Development into the mix – I truly believe that intuition from a marketing perspective is only gleaned when hanging out with your customers (or potential customers). As a marketer, I can assume all day long, but you know what assuming does?..
Marketing Video Roadmap:
- Facebook Ads
- Google Adwords
- KissMetrics
- Customer Development (Find out what customers really want)
- Analytics
- Landing Page Optimization
- Virality
- Social Media (Actionable advice, not pointless Mashable tutorials)
- SEO (On-Page Optimization & Link Building)
These are simply my initial thoughts – if you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.
