Latest Project: White Noise Video Productions
For those of you who don’t know me, I have an older brother who is a year-and-a-half older than me (I’m 19). Last summer he decided to be a whitewater guide in Jackman, Maine, working with Windfall Rafting Company. This past November he decided to pursue funding in the University of Southern Maine Business Plan Competition, with the winner earning 10k in cash, plus in-kind services (legal, accounting, etc). The event required a team, so we decided to enter and see if we could win some cash.
It turns out, that we won our track (Small and Solid Business), bringing home 10k in cash and in-kind services. Our goal is to reinvent the rafting industry in Maine, empowering people to share their experience with friends and family. Jacob’s basic idea of “shooting highly-personalized videos” is turning into an area of opportunity. It appears that we will be pursuing a provisional patent, and exploring creative ways to give our customers the best rafting experience possible (We’ll keep you posted on the fine details).
Jacob is in charge of production, while I assist with blog optimization, website construction, Google adwords setup, and some social media strategy. It’s quickly turning into a very profitable business, and we are excited to see what the future has in store.
Jacob recently created a video outlining the life of a whitewater guide in training, which has picked up over 60 Facebook shares in the past few days. Take a peek at it below!
